An introduction to the structure and language of physics through the study of mechanics, thermodynamics, vibrations, and waves.

A continuation of the study of the structure and language of physics. The subject matter includes electricity and magnetism, optics, and the physics of the atom and its nucleus.

An introductory course in physics for physical science and engineering majors. The subject matter of the course is classical mechanics.

A continuation of the introductory treatment of physics for physical science and engineering majors. The subject matter includes static electricity; magnetic phenomena; direct and alternating current circuits; the laws of Gauss, Ampere, and Faraday; and electromagnetic waves.

Individual study or research in physics. Specific topics or projects are determined in consultation with the instructor. Variable 1-2 units, 3-6 lab hours per week.
Note: Repeatable to a maximum of 4 enrollments/6 units. Students taking independent study courses must have a contract on file.
